Marma therapy is an Ayurvedic therapy that uses gentle to firm pressure on vital energy points (marma points) to promote healing of body and mind thereby improving physical and mental well-being. It involves stimulating marma points, often with essential oils, to relieve pain, reduce stress, enhance circulation, and support the body’s natural ability to detoxify and heal itself. There are approximately 112 marma points and of those 108 are mapped across the body.
How it works
- Stimulating vital points: Marma therapy works by applying pressure to the vital points on the body that are recognized in Ayurvedic medicine. The Ayurvedic physician will determine which are applicable during the assessment and diagnosis.
- Balancing energy: These points are considered to be “doorways” into the body, mind, and consciousness, affecting the flow of prana (life force) throughout the body.
- Holistic approach: By stimulating these points, the therapy aims to restore balance, leading to physical and emotional well-being.

- Improved circulation: May enhance blood and lymphatic circulation.
