Description and Teaching Approach – The Yoga Teacher Training Programs Certificate course is based on Classical Yoga, including Ashtanga, Hatha, and Ayurveda. We teach using the ancient, yet highly applicable to today’s needs, Vedic Gurukulam approach, which includes apprenticeship, internship, theory, practicum, memorization, and thorough understanding of course contents, in a supportive, patient, and motivational environment. The course contents noted below are the foundation for other advance yoga teacher trainings, such as the 200/300 hour Yoga Teacher, 500 hour Yoga Teacher, and Yoga Therapy (750 hours) Certificate programs. We also offer an Yoga Teacher Internship for teachers wanting to expand their knowledge and practice.

Yoga Lineage, History, Overview and Introduction – Level 1 and Level 2

Yoga & Ayurveda Dinacharya (Daily Yoga and Hygienic Routine)

Yogic and Ayurveda Nutrition & Lifestyle (Ahar / Vihar) – Level 1 and Level 2

Yogic and Ayurveda Cooking, Food Combinations, and Use of Spices (Food as Medicine)

Yoga and Ayurveda Understanding of Digestion, Food and Emotions – Level 1, Level 2 & Yoga Therapy

Yoga and Ayurveda Anatomy and Physiology, Introduction Level 1, Level 2 & Yoga Therapy

Yoga and Ayurveda Psychology and The Mind, Introduction Level 1, Level 2 & Yoga Therapy

Yoga Postures, For Daily Practice and Introduction To Therapeutics of Yoga Postures – Level 1, Level 2 & Yoga Therapy

Yoga and Pranayama (Life Force Control) and Meditation Techniques – Level 1, Level 2 & Yoga Therapy

Proper Use of Bhandas (Locks), Mudras, Mantra, and Yantra – Level 1, Level 2 & Yoga Therapy

Introduction to Kirtan (Bhakti Yoga), Seva/Karma Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Raja and Kriya Yoga – Level 1, Level 2 & Yoga Therapy

Vedas, Vedanta and Vedic Yoga – Dualistic and Non-Dualistic Approaches to Yoga – Level 1, Level 2 & Yoga Therapy

Philosophy including the eight (8) limbs of yoga, postures, pranayama and meditation based on Vedas, Gita, Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, and our spiritual lineage of Gurus based on Hatha, Ashtanga, and Iyengar Yoga as well as other books, included.

Attendance: In person or virtual

Timing – Co-Horts Form Every 6 Months – July and January; Course is just over 5 months

Hours – Saturdays 10am-2pm and Sundays 2pm-5pm (Pacific Standard Time) plus 3 floating hours; hours may be further customized on a case by case basis

Certificates – You will receive two certificates from this program: 1) Foundations of Ayurveda Yoga & Vedic Sciences and 2) Yoga Teacher Certificates. (NOTE: For existing Yoga teachers there is an option to complete course less the Yoga Teacher training portion and instead increase the hours in all other areas)

Western Style Programs:

  • 200 hr: $2,430 (USD)
  • 500 hr: $4,500 (USD)
  • 750 hr Yoga Therapy: $7,200 (USD)

Traditional Programs:

Based on apprenticeship, discipleship, volunteer & work study required in exchange for study and “certification”; program to be customized on a case by case basis

Installments – All programs may be made in installments; 1st installment due on 1st day of class
